Yesterday my strong yet emotionally open husband came home and immediately started crying. He couldn't stop for about 2 hours. I sat in his lap and just held him as he sobbed and said over and over that he didn't think he could deal with loosing Molly.

My heart just broke.

He's been so strong and has really guided me in preparing to let go. I've followed his strong resolve in his ..."this is the circle of life" mentality. It seems we've swapped roles for the time being. I have no tears right now, only wonder.

Molly is doing okay. She started on a crap load of meds, prednisone, some Chinese herbs, and a stomach protector. She's absolutely loving the special treats! We've started feeding her what ever she wants and some of her favorite people food. Our vet said to feed her what ever. So yeah she LOVES chocolate and she's been getting 3 choco chips every once in a while. Happy girl!

Her additude has been changing every day. She does not want anyone touching her and she seems to be pulling away from us emotionally, I know that sounds funny, but it's the truth. She'll still run to get her ball but then lays down and hold it. She seems really depressed, but she's been that way since we came back from Big Sur two weeks ago. She's sleeping a lot and if she's not asleep she just stares at you with her big brown eyes and looks to be pleading with you. She knows time is precious now.

Ella is very quite these days. Wants to lay with Molly, but Molly gets up and walks to the other side of the room. When she does get the rare chance to lay with Molly, she sniffs Molly's lympnodes and licks them. Or she'll just snuggle up to her and sleep. She knows.

This weekend we are planning on going down to Big Sur for a picnic on Sat., but it is supposed to rain. ARGH!! It is so beautiful right now, I'm praying for the storm to wait.

I love that your husband loves Molly like that. Mikee was so emotional durring the last few days with Maggie it really was special. You know they are just our furry kids we love them just as much!!! I am thinking of you and thanks so much for your kind words and prayer for my Dad.

Oh hon, I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you and your family. xo

I'm so sorry. I am sure Molly is right where any dog would want to be in their final days: with her family.

I lose it when A. cries to (its such a rare thing for a man). I want to be able to "fix" things and we can't always. Give everyone an extra hug from us.

OH MY, I feel for you. My heart goes out to you.

That just sucks! I am just now catching up on most blogs and my heart just broke for you guys. I'm so not looking forward to the day when our black lab takes his final breath. He's almost 11 and the vets say he still have 4 yrs but we'll see. My parents black lab will be 16 in May but we're not sure he'll live that long. He's in pretty bad shape.

We're also worried about what it's going to be like for our chocolate girl when Syd passes. She is so attached to him but is almost 7 yrs younger and we are not getting another dog for a long time.

OK, that is so sad. I feel so bad for you guys! They look so sweet laying there together.

We are so sorry... I don't even want to think about losing our Salty Dog!!
